The weather report looked favorable this morning so I headed to American Lake to try for some Kokanee. I arrived at about 10:00 with an overcast sky, little or no wind, and the lake was dead calm. I moved around the lake a bit more than I usually do trying to find the fish. I picked one up here and there but caught the majority of my limit off the NW tip of Silcox Island between 25 and 30 feet, in 60 to 80 feet of water. Pink wedding rings baited with pink Gulp maggots and corn got the most action. The fish were all 13 to 14 inches, fat, and starting to show spawning form and color. Sorry, no pictures, I couldn't get them to upload.
