muskyhunter and I took part in the 10th Annual Hayden Lake Pike Tournament hosted by the North Idaho Pike Association.
Saturday morning started with some rain and heavy winds at times. Out of the gate, muskyhunter had to two aggressive northerns hitting his lure. We mostly fished weedbeds and then tried a few points and dropoffs. We had a tough go but fish were being caught.
Sunday started much slower,I don't think we saw a fish until 11 or so. Worked several bays on the southend. Got some info on some new to me areas, found one bay that was an entire weedbed, looked real good but we couldn't pull a northern out with a $100 bill attached.
Spoons and spinnerbaits seemed to be the better producing lures,at least for everyone else.
Water temps ranged from 61-65. It was a great event and good to see old friends. Next stop is Lake Coeur d'Alene in a couple weeks.
