Put the boat in at the WDFW launch on the east side about 8:00 am. Started throwing a craw crankbait around docks. Turns out perch liked the crank. Caught around a dozen little farts, but no SMBs. So I switched to a 5" moto grub on a drop-shot. The perch liked the grub even more than the crank, but I stuck with it and it eventually paid off. My personal best smallie - a 19-1/2" football. She put my medium-light rod to work - and took several minutes to land. That one fish made it worth the trip. She swam away happy after a few pics.

great job! those pesky perch can sometimes save the day from being a skunk but at the same time they can be quite an annoyance when you're after bass! that's a pig smallie, congrats on your pb!

SWEET SMB! I have caught a few good-sized ones casting drops at docks on Stevens, but not that BIG!
