Took my 6 year old daughter out to Lake Washington, and fished off the T dock on Lake Washington Blvd. When we arrived shortly after sunrise, there was a fisherman there who told us that there were "no fish here". Not the best news for her to hear right off the bat.
It was really blustery out, so the water was extremely choppy. My daughter fished with worms under a bobber, while I tried a surface lure and crankbaits, spinners and spinbaits. I was feeling a bit of pressure to get her some sort of fish, as we got skunked the last time out. I tried cramming a couple of worms on a jig and jigging around the dock, and also a drop shot with some worms out by the weeds. No luck. The cold wind finally got the best of her after a couple of hours. But she was a good sport, and enjoyed the donuts and hot chocolate.
