For those not familiar with Deep Lake, it is in Nolte State Park just north of Enumclaw and almost to Cumberland. You will need a Discovery Pass to park inside and the park will close Oct. 1 thru the last Sat. in April 2012. But you can still use the facilities by parking on the road shoulder and walking in or toting in your cartop boat. I have been fishing Deep Lake since 1981 and never got skunked. Trolling at 20-25ft yielded a rainbow limit of 10 and 11inchers. The lake ranges to 70 feet deep at full pool. You have several shore fishing spots all around the lake just off the well-used walking/jogging path, or sit on the dock by the swimming beach in a lawn chair. Either way you will enjoy a quiet day of fishing without water skiers or jet skis! Only electric motors or "Armstrong" engines allowed. With our gas prices, I find Deep Lake an affordable alternative to driving an hour or more to a bigger lake where the limit is still 5 trout. For more info, go to the State Parks site.
Sorry for no pic. Gave my 5 to a shore fishman who wasn't having much luck. Still have plenty in the freezer.
