Dropped by Logboom park in Kenmore on my was home from work yesterday after getting skunked at Larsen lake in the morning. I had assumed, apparently wrongly, that I should fish off the deeper end of the pier and had done that with little success that last couple times. The last time I was there I talked to a guy about fishing for quite a long time and he gave me some tips that paid off.
I started off by fishing with some wacky rigged Senkos cast under the pier where it comes in from the path. I got a largemouth right off the bat that was maybe a pound or so. I lost a couple nicer ones right after that from the same spot.
Switched to worms and moved down the pier a bit for sunfish. I caught one decent pumpkinseed. I also had a very large fish go for it, but passed at the last minute. From what I could see it was probably a pikeminnow, but it was at least 20".
After giving the bass hole a break for a bit I gave the Senko another go and came up with a fish of similar size to the first one. It may have even been the same fish.
