I took the grandkid to Log Boom this morning to soak a worm or two. I had the 4 year old set up with a big fat juicy nightcrawler that I bought at Fred Meyer. So about an hour goes by after shaking off sunfish after sunfish, the kid starts screaming that he has a big one. I seen some splashing and his rod is bent over in half. I thought he might have hooked a carp but it was a huge bass about 10 pounds give or take. I had to help the kid out for a little bit and we finally got it to the bucket. What a great day.

Nice fish for the grand kid, congrats to that, but are you really going to eat a 10 lb bass? Picture???

Grats on the success...state record is 11.57, so anything even sniffing that would be amazing...picture of course would have been preferable. Keep those kids fishing...GJ!

I'm with you chad. And eating a bass like that is a real shame, especially with all the available salmon out there right now.Anyways,do you know that the bass are all on their own and do not get stocked like all these other fish.so it's a real shame to hear when a nice brood stock female like that gets taken out.Anyways, hope it was good,at least.please consider this next time.Besides, perch are the best eating anyways and are a good white meat fish like Bass.

I don't think you have to fret.....I doubt if the bass was nearly tha big....If I am wrong, I still don't think I appologize.

Please consider this, if the bass was truely that large, it must have been really old. Old bass will accumulate contamination over the years being the top of the food chain. If you like eating bass, better to keep the smaller ones and let the larger ones go.
