Spent a week at Boy Scout Camp Blakc Mountain and fished off the gravel beach at the south end of Scout property on east side of lake where a small stream pushes a lot of feed into the lake. Fish rising all of the time, but could not get any to hit any flies. (I am a very new fly rodder, could have been technique.) Boys caught and released about 3 fish a day, thick bodied rainbows and some cutthroat and one smallmouth (perch?? I didn't see it). All fish were taken by floating power bait, pink or chartreuse off the bottom on 4 - 5 ft leaders and egg sinkers. Fish were very shy and had to be given line before setting hook. They bit in sunlight, rain, fog and morning and evening. Very slow during day. Didn't get any bites trolling spoons.
