My brother & I went to Diamond Lake today just to see if the launch was a good one and if maybe the fish were biting. Long story short, Fair launch, poor parking & the fish weren't biting. We hit the water at about10:00 AM and fished for only 3 hours. Air temp was close to 90 and the water was warm but I didn't get a surface temp. We fished jointed Rapalas, Flatfish, Spinning Fly, Highland Fling and a generic type spoon. I fished deep with leaded line, and my brother fished shallow with unweighted mono. We were both using flashers. From the launch we trolled north around the north end of the lake, down the west side of the lake past the Boy Scout Camp then across the lake. The wind picked up and the air temperature became uncomfortable, so we called it a day. Not a single bite the whole time we were there.

Thanks Mark. That's my brother's boat and it is a DANDY. My game plan for the next time we go to Diamond Lake is to go to a different lake. Maybe Waitts Lake or Loon Lake.

Good job Joe, and your brother's boat is a carbon copy of ours except for the motor. :-) Hot temps don't make for good fishing IMO. We experienced similar conditions at Roosevelt this weekend too.

I live on the lake good luck finding fish in the heat of the day you should maybe get up with the real fishing people and try fishing when the sun comes up......but please try another lake more fish for me and one less person complaining about a lake they fished 1 time. Have a great day complaining about the next lake you fish at

Sorry I ruffled your feathers quaffkidd. That was not my intent. I was just reporting what I saw and what went on. Not everyone has the opportunity to start fishing at the break of day. Perhaps you could share some secrets.
