Got out from about 8 to 11 this morning. Overcast and about 60 degrees. The lake was a little warmer than the air temperature.
I worked the shoreline around the lake with a wacky rigged 5" watermelon senko. Caught 5 largemouths within the hour, all about 8" to 12" in size, in 0 to 8 feet of depth. I tried switching up different baits, including a perch colored spinner and a texas rigged, flesh colored gulp worm. No luck with those. I switched back to the wacky rigged senko and continued catching fish (all the same size as the first few I caught).
By the time I had worked the whole shore of the lake, I landed 2 dozen bass, all 8 to 12 inches. Good times, but I really wanted to land something bigger. With all the cover and fish in this lake, there have to be some big bass. Any tips for finding them?
Another note, saw 3-4 boats trolling for trout, with each boat catching fish occassionally.
