Since May 6th I've had four days that I lost count of how many fish I caught (got 13 yesterday between 4:00 and 8:00). A couple of 16" cutts, but most fish are running 10-12 inches. The state dumped some 130,000 fry in here recently so every fish has a big ol' football belly. They come readily to a medium trolled woolly bugger when it's overcast, and when the wind is right the nymph and indicator fishing can be astounding. Quite a few boats on the lake and people seem to be picking them up on everything from pop gear on down.
Many small bass in the shallows: has this historically been a warmwater species lake? I hope they don't take over...there's a lagoon near the outlet that I call the "salad bowl" and it's full of them.
