Cruised out to Wildcat around 6:30am. Saw many trout fisherman trolling on the lake. The water was calm and mostly clear. I worked my way around the edge of the lake using a top water frog, no luck after several hours of this method. Saw lots of fry swimming in the water and dink bass. While fishing in the morning hours, witnessed two curious racoons wading through the lilypads looking to eat anything they could find. My girlfriend ended up using a bobber and worm to see what kind of action she would muster up. She caught one little dink bass on it. Tried using spinnerbaits, jigs, senkos, rapala's, and spoons...........just little guys chasing it, not biting. In the evening before we left, headed over to the beaver lodge on the southside of the lake and used the frog again. Had one aggressive bass lunge at it. Kept throwing the frog out and watched bass react several feet away by blasting the water. Got a chance to see a small beaver swimming in the area, must have got his curiousity going with all the lure tossing. Had a good time overall and was impressed with the amount of good bass habitat in the lake.
