Went out to Newport boat dock with 2 friends(have a boat there) to fish around the dock. Started off fishing a red/white crappie jig(last time i was there hooked into a nice LM bass on a crappie jig)No luck on those. Eventually we found a break in the weeds and I tied on a shad colored rattle trap to my baitcasting reel and flipped out. On the 3rd cast i casred between 2 shady boats and pulled out a 2 1/2 pound LM which was released. Later we switched to perch and took home a bucket full of perch and bluegills to my friends house and had dinner. Anyone know any secrets to catching big LM's durring the day??? If so I'd love to know.
