Well guys , Im coming off the mend pretty well after what seemed like weeks of dealing with a MRSA foot infection. I hooked up with my good buddy Rojer AKA pacbassman on this website. Rog is a good luck charm of sorts as we have always been able to find and catch fish together and today was no different. We hit north Fio Rito at 7 a.m. and as usual Roger caught three bass and hooked a nice trout while I was preparing to launch my Jon Boat! Fio Rito lake has been a gem for me, producing huge rainbow brood stock and some fast paced bass action over the years. The main reason I didn't rate today a 5 was the fact that we didn't catch any big bass though the trout were solid 14"ers, very fat and healthy. The weeds this tme of year make trolling nearly impossible on Fiorito, so we concentrated on pitching Yum Dinger Baby bass Senkos in 3" size on a 1/32 oz. shaky jighead. I switched up to a larger 6" Zoom watermelon worm to target bigger fish and it seemed that everything we threw produced fish. These fish hit hard and for thier size, fought awesome on light tackle. I even let Rog use my pet Loomis GL2 6'6 light jig rod , which he fell in love with right away!. MInd you every fish we cauught was in the keeper slot limit, But we chose to let em' grow up and give the next guy a chance to catch em'.too We ended up catching and releasing over 50 largemouth in a couple hours. (This lake would be a GREAT place to take a kid and get them in to fishing.) What an awesome way to hone up our skills for steelhead fishing later this month. .Jiggy
