The in-laws are in town from Guam, so I decided to take the father in-law to one of our fav. lakes. Launched out around 5:30-6:00 a.m. Didn't take long for him to hook his first trout which was pretty cool because he never caught trout before. Ended up only being 8 inches and was released. Caught trout pretty consistantly for about an hour ranging from 10-12". Then he hooked into something a little bigger. At first he thought he was hung up on a log, but then the log started to move. The fish surfaced multiple times and then shot back down to the bottom. After about 5 mins of battle we got him in the net, which barely fit. The fish ended up being 28" long and estimated around 8-9 lbs. Pretty cool being his first trip trout fishing and only using 4lb main line and an ultra light rod. Now I have a new record to beat because the biggest i've ever caught here is 20". All in all it was another good day on the lake.
