I caught a smallie the other day under a dock, took him a long time to take the senko, then he just held it for awhile before I felt him when I slowly dragged it in and felt the 'heavyness'. I still thought it was a weed or rock and just held pressure on the line, then decided to set the hook as it then didn't feel like a rock and wasn't mushy enough to be a weed. Only a pounder but fought well.

I fish weightless Sencos alot (well, actually Bass Pro Shop's Stickos cause they're so much cheaper.) Anyway I learned alittle trick for detectecting those undetected pickups. I take alittle Smelly Jelly (probably any jell type attractent will work), put alittle between my thumb and finger and dress about 20 to 30 feet of line in from of the plastic. The line will float while the worm sinks, and works just like a bobber. I've detected countless pickups that were nothing more than a couple twitches in the line, sending tiny wavelets away from the line. Seldom do I have to dress the line more than twice a day. Ofcourse for it to work to the optimum the water has to be fairly flat. Anyway, just alittle something that works for me........
