Had a short day at work. The weather was a little wacky though. Looked at the weather radar, and it appears there might be a couple of hrs worth of dry weather, so off to the lake I go.

Got on the water by about 4:45 or so. Was shocked to only see 1 trailer parked, which was nice.

I started heading out. Then get a phone call from the Fiance saying she changed her mind is on her way..... Setup my rods while I wait and then turn to dock to pick her up.

We had to my favorite spots and start casting. I'm throwing on a crankbait and she a weightless plastic.

5 mins in, I get a solid whack and it feels good! Uh oh, the fish is about to jump! And there goes the hooks. :( Looked to be about a 15-16" largemouth.

I alternate between a dropshot and my crankbait.

On the dropshot, tick and see my line moving. Lift up and fish on! And zzziipppppp goes my drag! Oh snaps! It's a bigun. I yell for net and after several drag rips, got it in the boat! WOO HOO. Measured to 19". 1 eye is blind. Fat football shape. Finally got to use my new scale.
4lb6oz.

WWWWOOOOO HOOOOOO. May have been the same fish I caught a few weeks ago, but I dont remember it having a blind eye. It was in the same vicinity, but a little bit deeper.

The Fiance caught 2 small fishes. She had on something that was nice, but that came off.

I had a few more bites on the dropshot, but they were just small fishies.

Nice Smallie! Looks like having one eye in not much of a handicap. I have caught several largemouth over the years with one eye but they were long and slim.

Very nice smallmouth!! A basser I know caught a largemouth on Spanaway with a milky blind eye---3 times---on the same dock. The first year it was just shy of 8 lbs, the second year it was 9-3, and the 3rd year it was 10-1. He fished for it through the following year with no luck. The fifth year a boater brought it to the resort. He found it floating. Probably just died of old age. Anyway, the resort employee knew Dennis and about the fish, and called him. Dennis drove to the resort, and sure enough, same fish with the same milky right eye.

Dang, that's a big smallie! Are smallie prospects from the shore worth pusuing? It's getting expensive to drive to Union just for smallie action. Meridian is much closer.

IB I don`t know how much shore there is. There is a few nice fishing docks by the pads. With the monster you caught last year off the dock you should be fine here to;)

I was using a white plastics.

Fishing from shore isnt bad for trout. For bass, I dont know. I've caught a couple on the fishing dock there, but they're very limited.
