The nice part about Mayfied is when Riffe looks like an ocean, Mayfield may just have a ripple on it. I just wish the bassin was as good on Mayfield as Riffe.

I actually caught a perch out on the big flat a couple weeks ago. On a Yozuri..i have a photo of it somewhere. Hit the back end of the bait. whole treble hook in its mouth. A little over 8 inch perch. I let it go though. Winston Cove actually is a good place for perch. You got to wait for the weeds to get up there. Also around the Mayfield Park launch is good too. Ask Sheryl next time you go there. There used to be perch fishing derby out there. I don't think they do it anymore. I will check with a buddy of mine who fishes them and see if he will give me any secrets. Remember you have to get the salmon/steelhead endorsement if you fish the trout out there. I get one just in case. Fishing with worms you'll probably hook into a few of the gazillion trout/ steelies/kokes out there while perch fishing.. Good luck
