I was the first one to launch behind the dam at McNary at 0340 am.... Yep, I'm an idiot ! I caught (and released) 3 very nice steelhead average was 26 inches ALL WILD... ( I didn't dare bring them into the boat )..
Lots of guys on the WA side of the river using shrimp and bobber.... Doing quite well.... I was using a wiggle wart painted in my secret color... I also picked up a bronzeback...18 plus inches.... my biggest ever ! ( yeah, I put him back, I don't eat bass )... Overall not a bad fishing trip for me.... fishing was slow overall for the numerous boats that passed and asked the proverbial question ( U havin iny luk ?) The answer back from them was a straight faced " NOPE ".... Fishing should be picking up as it gets colder.... trust me it is cold at 3:30 am ! Trout is the mortal enemy...Fish till ya drop!
