Hey all,
Fished the "park" for about four hours today. I tossed my lucky black and silver roostertail all day with only small Largemouth fingerlings showing interest in it, which might have to do with the Cottonwood trees shedding their "cotton" on the water and sticking to my line and lure. People I've talked to either fish this place at night or just before sunrise. The water at the time of this post is warm enough to bathe in.
Trout fishing was slow, but I did see some on stringers along the bank. Rumor is that they are going to stock it again sometime next month.
I got a verbal confirmation of the existence of Crappie in the lake. The guy I talked to said they're in there but not very many and not very large. To find them you'll have to hit the Lilly pads. I also got a "visual" confirmation of Pumpkinseed sunfish. Them Bass have plenty of food.
Hopefully tonight I'll be able to stay awake long enough to join the boys in their midnight fishing trip and try some top action for some Bass.
