I decided to try Waughop for the first time today with no success. I threw everything in the tackle box including multiple plastics, spinnerbaits, jigs, crankbaits and topwater baits. It appears the post spawn is on and fishing can be extremely tough especially fishing from shore.
I did see one fish surface and make a big wake. Not sure what it was after. I spoke to a gentleman that has been coming to this lake for years and he said he seen a big bass explode out of the water near the lilly pads and swallow 1 of 4 baby ducklings that were out swimming with momma duck. That would be a sight to see!! I know there are some monster bass in this lake and I will definitely be back......after the post spawn.
