So got to log boom at about 5:25 and this kid that is out there all the time was there so we met up and we spotted a school of bluegill and he drop our worms down and they were nibbling but not biting, then the kid that i met up with (forgot his name) says OMG that is a huge bluegill!! And it was coming straight for my worm!! So it bites once and i missed it!!! Then it comes back and inhales it and BAMMM!!! FISH ON!! I bring it up and its huge! So i get a vid of it and throw it back. Then i go over and check out my catfish rod and nothing is on it:( Any tips on catching cats? But as i was setting it down i see my other pole going like crazy so i set the hook and bring it up and right as it hits the surface it spits the hook! So i drop it back down and get the bit and bring it up and its a good 10 in perch!! So after that i see my catfish rod Dancing! So i wait and then set the hook and im on to what has to be a cat! But after a little fighting it spits the hook!! So around 9:15 i started getting bites on that rod!! But no takers:( Again any tips? Also brought up alot of sculpin! So any bait tips for cats would help! Thx. Oh we left around 9:40 pm!

When catching the perch are you guys throwing out your poles or just dropping it straight down from the dock.

Can you use 2 poles on the dock? I thought the lake was single pole.

You can buy an endorsement for your fishing license that allows you to use 2 lines

I have one. I was in Lake Washington yesterday and looked at the regs. Says no 2 poles thats why I asked about the dock.

Thanks

Chandler - Per the WDFW regs, you CANNOT use two poles even if you have the endorsement. See it here under the WDFW listing of lakes were two poles are NOT allowed: http://wdfw.wa.gov/licensing/twopole/lakes.php

Which sucks if you are fishing for cats - what better way to wait for a cat than to fish for other stuff in the meantime. But, it is what it is and it isn't worth the fine.

Apparently a lot of people arn't reading their regs. I have seen people using two rods in Sammamish several times this year aswell.

i asked the warden last year about the two pole rule ... you can't fish with two poles in any lake where salmon are an indigenous species ... so lake Washington AND lake Sammamish are both illegal for two poles .. the state will download a list of lakes you can't fish on .. and there is sure alot

For cats, I have never done wrong using chicken livers....nice sized hook, 2/0 or 3/0....catfish type like whisker hooks...not too much weght because you have to lob the bait out...sit, and wait. Best time is almost always at night or early morning...and how do I get to this "log boom" from say, the Tacoma Dome?
