Beautiful day with clear skies and in the high 70's. We fly fished for about 8 hours, starting at about 8:30 a.m. My partner hooked up right away and landed a nice Rainbow while wind drifting with fast sinking lines. No other hookups until about 2:30 in the afternoon when I landed two fish with the same method. We fished several depths with nymphs and chironomids and ended up with three fish (all nice 1-2 pounds). I'm thinking that it's time for early morning and late evening tactics for trout until the Fall.
We talked to several other anglers who had not touch a fish. Many, many fish on the depth finder all the way down to 35 feet.
