My partner and I hit Warden at about 8:30 a.m. A young lady caught two fish from shore while we were launching. We fished from my 12' Lund. Headed to the southeast end and fished both deep and shallow (35 feet to 5 feet). Did some wind drifting with slow sinking lines and caught three fish in short order. These fish were caught at about 8 feet in 20 feet of water. It then went dead. We observed a good number of fish on the depth finder anywhere from 6 to 35 feet down.
We fishing chironomids from an anchored position and did more wind drifting is several areas of the south portion of the lake with no results.
The weather had gotten worse with a cold front moving through. I think the barometric pressure may have had something to do with the poor bite. High winds and no action brought us back to the launch at noon.
My last trip a few weeks ago netted 46 fish hooked and released.
