Met a nice guy named Nate at Log Boom this afternoon. I had stopped by the dock to hit some bluegills and perch for fun, and I saw Nate fighting a carp so I talked to him for a bit. Glad I did! He was kind enough to loan me some gear (I only had my ultralight gear) and give me a crash course in carp. Wow! Super fun! Fished for a few hours and landed a pretty stout one, and lost one horse of a carp. (I got a little careless and frayed the line on the end of the dock) I had so much fun I'm gonna spool up an extra reel I've got layin' around and give it a go tomorrow I think.

They're ugly but they sure are big! Fun, too! Used to get em on corn back in Pennsylvania, where we would have to run up and down the river bank to keep after them!

LOL U guys had quite the adventure with the dock as an added obstacle. can imagine hauling aorund on the dock trying to avoid losg them. Musta had the blood flowing :-) So how were the perch and bluegills? Or did the carp overwhelm your senses and put you on a path solely for them? Thanx for the report and pix (ditto to nate).
