I took my two kids fishing and decided to try a kids friendly lake. We arrived late, 1230 and started fishing from our boat with crawlers and a BOb. Fishing started slow, but an hour after we started my daughter, 12 yoa, caught a nice 12" rainbow. A half hour later she boated a 14" rainbow. My daughter was very happy. My four year old son boated two rainbows later in the day, both 12". He had a chance at three others, but it was his first time fishing and the excitement took over. All-in-all we had a great day of fishing. Dad got skunked, but the joy the kids had fishing was well worth it.
