6/13/2011 10:47:00 AMOtherwise, if you happen to get out bright and early in the morning, you can try leaving 1 line on the surface. I've had times where even though I was marking fish down 40-60 ft., all my bites came right on the surface with no weight except the sinking of my monofilament line back 100ft. I even tried putting the downrigger down 5 feet without success. They wanted it RIGHT on the surface. A few pea-shots above the swivel probably would not hurt.
If you try this, report back and let us know if it works for you. Thanks.

I noticed on the fish finder that a lot of the fish were up near the surface or on top as well as the bigger ones far down or midway to the bottom. my buddy was trolling with a jig on the surface, he didnt catch anything though. my Kastmaster was the winner.
