I thought I'd provide some input on this body of water. I was able to get my 17-6 boat into it this last week, but I can see that I won't be able to as the water starts to drop more.
The water was 57 degrees to 61 degrees, with the water clarity fair. I suspect that Bonnie will get an algae bloom soon as the water increases in temperature. Watch out for the hidden rocks on the upper end of the island, but otherwise, it seems that if you watch your depth the lake is safe enough. It is sure a geologically unique lake.
We caught several LMB, with the largest around 5 pounds, C&R. We also saw some huge perch caught by a couple of gentlemen. ALMOST made me put my Bass Tackle away. He He.
We did not see any crappie, but we did not look that hard either.
Nice lake, I am sure I will venture back again, but the ramp sucks, as a couple of gentlemen would tell you after they almost destroyed their boat, and the trip in is sure a shallow draft boat venture for sure.
