Arrived at North Park launch at about 6:00 to find the gates locked. Used the restroom and staged-up the boat and the guy arrived to unlock the gates at about 6:40. Paid for parking ($10) and dumped the boat in the lake. Fishing by a little bafore 7:00 (probably an hour or 90 minutes too late for the heart fo the AM bite).
Trolled a Radical Glow UV pink hottail spinner behind a UV sling blade on the rigger and a UV pink wiggle hoochie behind another UV sling balde as my surface line - all tipped with white shoepeg corn. Plain corn attracted the most bites - I used several combos of color and scent. No kokanee bites on the surface line today, but I arrived a little late for the morning surface bite and the water is warming up so fish probbaly are not too comfortable at the surface. Did get one trout on the surface while I was letting out line on the rigger pole. Trolling speed between .9 & 1.2 mph.
The pink hottail spinner was the hot ticket today. All four kokanee hooked on this spinner at depths of 28 - 58 feet. One landed and one hooked and lost by the VA hospital. One landed and one hooked and lost on the east side of Silcox Island.
Broke my kokanee rod today. Thankfully Sportmen's Warehouse in Federal Way excahnged without a hassle. Also, lost my Herzog American Lake Special to the bottom - Sportco is out of them so I will have to tie my own replacemnt.
Overall a decent day fishing. Tight Lines!
