Omak was red hot and is probably still fishing great with the cool weather. Lots of cruising trout along the shoreline, site fishing was a blast using the clear int. sink line and about a size 10 olive bugger. Presentation was critical with the fly just off the bottom and just the right lead time, plus casting from a kneeling position was a must. We also moved offshore to fish deeper water from the boat and did great on non-spawning cutts. Best fish was 25 inches but most were 20 to 23 inches. Having fished Omak for great number of years, I think the lake was kind of in a slump the last few but this year seems to be a great improvement in numbers and size. We easily had a 25 fish day a piece if not more. The lake is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the state and the great Lahontan cutthroats are real bonus too!
