Got bored of sitting around the house around noonish so the other half and i went out to silver to see about getting a few catfish for dinner. We got there around 2pm and left around 6pm. She decided to fish mainly for trout and was skunked (Did see a few caught). When i was walking out on the dock i saw a few good sized fish swimming in the shallows and thought they where bass. So i stopped and watched the water with my polarized glasses. To my surprise they where good looking cats hanging around the pumpkinseed nests. So i rigged up my microlight rod with just a worm (no weight) and picked off 4 of them before the rest spooked. They where between 13 and 15 inches (not big but perfect for the frying pan). Caught a couple big'ish pumpkinseeds, 2 lil crappie, and a bunch of dink lmb while targeting the cats. Went off the front of the dock and casted to my favorite spot for cats and didn't get a bite the rest of the day. It looks like the cats are staging for the spawn at silver right now, because i normally don't see them hanging out in the shallows like that (caught all 4 in less then 5ft of water). By the end of this month they should be biting really good.
