I fished from about 6-10am. I only got 4 in the boat. I lost about that many to. I used again Bahama Mama Dodger with a Wannafish A Lure Bloody Mary and Dick Nite’s Pink Splatter Dodger with Wannafish A Lure Pink Ice. I started out using DNA Kokanee scented shoepeg corn on one with anise scented shoepeg corn on the other. Got the 1st and 2nd bite-fish on the anise scent so I switched and got all bites and fish on those set-ups. About 9am the bite switched off and I didn’t get the 5th fish for my limit. I got fish on the downrigger from 10-23 feet in 40-90 feet of water.

toni, How long a leader do you use? Is the leader length a major factor whether or not your lure gets bit? Thanks for all your posts.

@salmonbarry there were hardly any boats.
@MotoBoat I start out with about 18 inches of leader then tie it up. A few inches shorter. Beaded lures should be longer than squids. On those you want some of the action from the dodger. Flashers attract the fish.

Congratulations, thanks for sharing. Unless those fish are posing on a very small ice chest, those are some very nice sized Kokanees. Your the American Kokanee Queen! Always look forward to your reports.

Thanks for another fine report and the gear shots.

Just ordered a couple of your spinners - pink ice and bloody mary. Look forward to using them on my next trip to American Lake as well as Wallowa Lake down in Oregon. Tight Lines!
