Today I headed out to Gene Coulon with my friend again to target Smallies. When we got there, same as usual no bites. Then we moved to the boat launch area and my friend pulled up about 5 small perch and lost 2 and pulled up one smallie on a small grub jig. Then we went to the swimming area to find it with about 4-5 carps cruising the shallows so we tried it out. We threw our line in and we both brought up the same carp. Then I had a hook on with a carp but it shook it off. Pretty normal day of fishing. I also landed a small bass before the carp too.
