Had not fished Leland this year in a driving rain, call me nutz but it sometimes produces a fantastic Crappie bite. Got to the lake about 4pm there was one boat out bassin, campground had about 4 parties setup. Left the dog home cuz it was just coming down, put on my Frog Toggs on and zipped right over to the outlet and within a minute bobber down, rigged up a second pole with Dons Dandy Crappie Jigs and a slip float and for the next half hour I must have reeled in 50 or so Crappie, largest around 9", but my rule is 10" so back they all went. Hurried over to my favorite Perch spot and thats when the work began, I just was not graphing a darn thing, so put my autopilot on .2mph and followed the shoreline casting in with my Crappie Spin and managed to pull a few more Crappie and one Perch out, so went home with one Perch and the satisfaction that indeed the Crappie have survived quite well the Cormorant invasion. Sorry no photos, left the camera home on purpose as I am sure it would of got wet. Have a great weekend everyone!
