Aaron and I spent the day fishing with guide Shelby Ross on the Potholes. The fishing was consistant, not on fire but we seemed to be getting bit and catching fish throughout the day. Shelby started us off in the NW corner of the lake fishing some channels which I have no idea how to get back to! Anyway, we got our top three fish there, 20,22, and 23. Each time an area would slow for us we'd move on to another location.
Technique was slow trolling worms either with or without Macks Lures smilie blades. We fished depths of 12-30 feet.
High points of the day include a delicious lunch of baked walleye on the grill (man that that hit the spot!). And of course the scenery can't be beat.
If you want to hit walleye this is a good time of year to get out there. Shelby Ross can be reached at 509-750-7763. Thanks Shelby for a good day on the water (and yes, there will be a video posted soon!).
