Decided to put off household projects again and go fishing with my brother, and 2 year old daughter. We got to the lake around 12 or so. Wind was a little strong, but the sun was out finally which was nice. Started fishing the usual shallow spots we had fish from the last couple weeks. We released a few there around 10-12" but it was slower than it had been. We decided to split up and try to find where the fish were. I trolled around for a little while and released a few more which was cool, because I usually never troll. Water temp was around 64 so I went a little deeper and targeted the choppy water like when river fishing. Set the anchor and casted my worm. Felt some resistance so I set the hook, only this one was different. I knew I had something with size because it didn't surface fast like the others did. Got the fish near the boat and realized it was a monster rainbow. Once it realized it was hooked it started to run. Finally got him in the boat after a few mins of him putting my 4lb line and ul rod to the test. Ended up being a 20" rainbow... biggest I ever caught. Casted out again after that and got another one the was 15" that was released. My bro caught and released some nice ones where he was fishing too. All in all it was a good day of fishing for us.
