Had a good time out at Eloika today. Got on the water and for some reason my cranking battery wouldnt crank! So we just trolled the south end of the lake. As we got there had some great gentlemen tell us that black spinnerbaits were producing and they were right. We ended up with 8 fish in the boat and quite a few more on and lost. Fished from 11am to 4pm. Pretty much constant action. Tips are find lilly pads or reeds and cast up to shore. No big ones pretty sure all were small males preparing for spawning sites. All fish hit within 4-5 cranks of the shore.
Seemed like all the boats were catching some today and saw another gentlemen catch about 5 nice LMB on a black lizard. I couldnt quite find the bigger ones today but this lake is very close to popping!!
Had a fun experience as well when I set the hook on a senko in the pads had fish on and two cranks later the line snapped! I was ticked! Then I saw my line floating in the water and so I thought at least I can get my senko back. Started pulling the line and the BASS WAS STILL THERE!!! So I hand reeled him in and had a good laugh!
All fish CR
