Now that I have a bow mounted trolling motor on the ol' duck boat, I figured was 90% of the way to bein' a professional bass fisherman! We launched on the Sammamish by the golf course - OK, 7:00 may have been a bit late - and hit both sides of the channel out to Lake Washington, the flats on either side, the deeper water out by the big bouy as well as close in to the brushy banks. Water temperatures were 55 degrees.
Nothing.
Over to Log Boom Park and up past Kenmore Air. Back across the flats.
Nothing.
Drop shotting plastic worms and casting jigs. In the weeds, over bare bottom, deep and shallow.
Nothing.
Until we got into the mouth of the river and then - for all of 6 seconds - there it was!!!
And then there it wasn't.
I'm new to this site and a converting fly guy so thoughts, comments and suggestions are welcome. And, if anyone's so inclined, I'd entertain a trading a morning/evening in the boat (a 16' jon boat, 30 hp outboard Merc jet) for advice & guidance.
