Went to soda lake while my dad was fishing potholes for the walleye tournment, well lets just say the fishing was amazing. i launched on the south end of the lake and started bottom bouncing through depths from 25 to 50 feet. it wasnt 2 minutes before i had my first fish. But the regulations say you can only keep 5 fish out of soda lake minimum 16" and 1 fish over 22" i fished soda lake for a week and everyday i was catching 25-30 fish, but you will catch alot of small ones before you ccan keep your first fish. weather was warm no wind, beautiful week. and i was getting my limit of these walleye everyday for that week. Keep in mind to any walleye fisherman that is just getting to learn about walleye fishing, mid april to early may is usually post spawn fishing and the walleye's are relating to structure all of my fish were picked up off a drop off that went from 17-25 feet. This lake is very snaggy so make sure not to have your gear laying on the bottom.

Nice report. I spent much of my youth on that lake, and it was not wasted. Sounds like good advice. Any crappie?
