Hit Warden at about 9:00 a.m. The weather was cloudy with a good wind. At the launch a nice angler volunteered that most trollers were using flatfish on the west bank. Mike and I were fly fishing, so we used a topo map to find the shoals adjacent to deep water. We ended up fishing on the eastside of the lake most of the day.
We anchored for chronomid fishing, but did do some wind drifting with Olive Woolleys about 40% of the time on slow sink lines (the wind provided the right speed). We did count hookups and ended up with 46 fish on by 5:00 p.m. (We landed about 30). All of our fish were in 4.5 to 10 feet of water. All fish were released with the help of barbless hooks.
This lake is only 12 miles from my home, but I had never fished it. I will be back.
