Finally got on a consistent smallmouth bite today! Water was in the high 50's to 60*, There was a slight green tinge to the water but still fairly clear. Wind was out of the south and east up to 10mph at times with off and on rain. Never saw a fish over 4lbs, or a largemouth for that matter, but not complaining... hit double digits with smallies from 2-3.5lbs, jigs and grubs did the trick today, and fish were 5-12 feet deep near spawning flats. Fished from about 10am to 4pm decided to head out when it started to downpour and my dogs were getting soaked! Had my fun though, even retrieved a Rapala DT6 someone snapped of on a bouy rope, tsk tsk. I would think these fish will be on beds after this weeks full moon, figured that's why I was hitting 90% males...
