hit the water at 6:30 from gene coulon.trolled from cedar to south end of mercer island.marked lots of fish no takers.by the time i was out in front of the yacht club my pole was surging.pulled it off the release and reeled it in.it was about a 6 pound pikeminnow.imagine how many salmon smolt this thing could eat.a few minutes latter a nice 12 inch koke.fished till 10:30 then had mothers day duties.tight lines.

In the second picture, looks like the squawfish is trying to eat the kokanee.

it hit a red and white apex baited with power bait red wiggler at 55ft. going 2.2 mph.

tiger muskies would cure that pikeminnow problem .Tiger muskie love to eat em ,and since tigers and pikeminnow inhabit the same water alot and smolt dont it would be a smart move .tigers are sterile so you could keep them in check

Yeah, what did you do with the squawfish? I used to catch them all the time and put them back until I realized how harmful they are to the fisheries.

no it did not fight.it came to the surface with its mouth wide open.i did not know what it was.i thought bass?basking shark?skied it into the net.when i cut it open it was a female full of tiny egg clusters.

oh wow, that's kind of shocking, i wonder if it's because of the water temps. i've caught squawfish not even 1/4 that size that fought hard, interesting~~
