If you have a kid you want to take fishing, this is your lake!
I decided to hit up Walker for a change of pace. I went there yesterday afternoon, but there were too many people so I decided not to deal with it.
I got to the lake around 11am today and there was only one other boat. The weather was overcast and the surface temp was sitting around 52F. I started getting bites right away with a chartreuse wedding ring and a large split shot tipped with 1/3 of a night crawler. I had my limit within an hour (would have been sooner but I wasn't paying attention for a lot of the bites), nothing huge, but entertaining none the less.
Talked to some shore anglers on my way out, they hadn't gotten anything yet using powerbait, but it's been my experience at this lake if fishing from shore to use worms.
