Had a half hour to spare between jobs while I was down in Lacey today. I spotted a trail that looked like it led down to the shore, and after following it down I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice open spot to fish from the bank. I cast out and not twenty seconds later had a small rainbow to shore! Caught a couple more before I had to go...the weight would hardly get to the bottom before getting a hit. All fish were small, around 10 inches, and I released them carefully after removing the hook with surgical precision:) Beautiful day to spend a few spare minutes at fishing in solitude, and I was even rewarded with three aerials from one of the small and feisty trout. Would have rated it higher if they had any size....but the bite is on!

Please remember that when using bait all fish caught in our lakes must be retained as your limit .

As a quick clarification, page 27 of the WDFW 2011/2012 Sportsfishing Rules Pamphlet reads:

“In lakes, ponds, and reservoirs: No min. size. Daily limit 5. When fishing with bait, all TROUT
(except STEELHEAD) equal to or greater than the minimum size are counted as part of the daily limit
whether kept or released.”

LOL. Dude you don't have to KEEP them. You just have to stop after you have caught five.
