I fished American Lake from 0900 to 1600. I tried marsh mellows, worms, combinations there of. I had a few bites though it was quite windy and I had trouble knowing when I had a bite. ( I wasn't going to sit in the rain and hold my line.) I did however see the birds had no trouble finding fish 30 feet out from the bank I was fishing. With the binoculars I was able to see they were catching small bass and trout. I also saw a few trout jumping but they could have been just trying to avoid the feeding birds. I was fishing by the northwest adventure center on northfort. The water was cold and the air temperature was about 50 degrees according to the sign on post.
