Hit Fishtrap for opening day for the first time. Got there at 6am ish and there were plenty of people already there. Got on the water and trolled various colors/combos of wedding rings tipped with half a worm. Immediately started hitting some fish just coming into the cliffs. Started landing some nice rainbows as we trolled a 3rd of the way down the lake. Rainbows were all 16" or bigger with the largest about 20". They were healthy, strong, and had great color. After landing a number of them the bite slowed down on that side of the lake, so we went and tolled the other side where we started hitting more 16+ inchers. After that bite died down we went back to the other side and finshed two of the three limits with two 12" planters. I still had one more fish so I trolled back to the launch with no luck.
Overall landed 14 fish. All were over 16" except the last two which were about 12". Probably lost 8-10 fish.
This was a busy lake. It was my first time there for opening day. There were probably 30-40+ boats on the water. Bunch of people fishing from the dock too.
