Sunshine at last! Bit windy, but doable. Fun, but had to work for 'em. After the last outing where my grandson fought the wind but dropped the rod in the water, I wanted to just get out alone for some reason. That trip was in Ellensburg last week, and we caught around 30 pan sizes bass, perch and sunfish. This trip, 8 bass, 10" - 21", all C&R, all on 6# test. The big lady bass fought very well, jumping much more than is usual early in the season. My camera and wife get back from Hawaii today. Kept 9 crappie, turned about 10 loose. Usually don't catch crappie here much, are they getting more prolific? One nice perch and some dinks. Not one bluegill or sunny. Every fish came with a jig with purple on it or all purple, and like the bass post just below this one fished S-L-O-O-O-O--W. If you can't wait, take snacks and eat 'em while waiting in likely spots. Oh, cast first. It helps, too.
