Lived in Spokane my whole life and have known this lake was not the place to go but I saw WDFG releasing Lahotian cuthroat 2 days ago and so I hit it. I do not know why they kept it a secret (releasing of the fish) but it payed off. I fished the bottom from the freeway side with a bobber and worm and holy cow, I landed 2 nice lahotians in 1 hour and then not a bite. I reccomend giving this place a try, maybe they are trying an experiment like on Omak lake, it worked great there. Watch out for the home owners and do not trespase as I found out, the freeway side is public and worked great.

Very wierd. I was not aware that they could plant a lake that did not have public access, and as such, ................

I know they did this once before, then found out they did not have this access. WHAT IS GOING ON?

PM Marc about this if you would.

Really, Granite lake is nothing more than an over sized pond and isn't very deep either, must have a lot of food for them to feed on. I live in Medical Lake and I am going to have to check this out.

I would suggest checking with the WDFW before you just run out there and fish. The lake itself may be state owned, but that doesn't mean that the lake is open to fishing.

Every Lahontan lake that I have fished, has had special regulations posted for them. Usually, single barbless hook and no bait.

If the game department is doing a feasibility test on the lake, then it would be considered research and I would think that fishing would not be allowed. It is best to find out land ownership and if fishing is allowed and then check it out. If you don't, you make find yourself in an interesting predicament.

It may be getting near May, but I think it must be April 1, if you know what I mean.
