Cary Henspeter of Snohomish brought his wife Nanette and Kids, Emily (12) and Ethan (10) out Lake Trout fishing with me. I was a one trick pony with a couple of secondary locations not being productive. We were committed to pounding the indeterminate flat between the Bar and Minneapolis. Thank goodness, it worked. They definitely showed a preference for Purple Glow U20 flatfish. We pulled them at speeds of 1.2 to 1.6 mph within 10 feet of the bottom. It was great having the kids to tease. Between fish they played "Go Fish". Some sort of symmetry there, I would say. They really got a kick out of the kokanee tails sticking out of the mouths of a number of the lakers. The size was very consistent with most fish from 4.5 to 5.5 pounds. Small fish was 3 and big fish was 6.5. It was a great way to spend a day of spring break. Do some fishing, some bonding and get some fish to grill and smoke.
