I had the day off so I took two of my nephews out to American lake today. The weather wasn't to bad, just alittle windy later in the morning.
We fished on the north side of Silcox mostly in about 70' of water running between 10 and 25 feet. We trolled a red wedding ring on one side and a green ring on the other downrigger about 20'. Both were behind a 4/0 green uv dodger. The third pole was running at surface with a green dodger and pink and white apex. All were tipped with gulp maggots.
The wedding rings took the first two fish in short order. After that it was the apex that was getting all the action. We finally stopped about 12:30 with four in the boat and one lost at the side. All koke's were in the 12" range.
I will have to go more often now that the koke's are picking up.
